Best of Rat Tales Comedy Night
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 | 7:30PM | THE ARTS GUILD
Hosted by: Britt Campell
Rat Tales Comedy Night is usually a weekly comedy show at Baba’s Lounge in Charlottetown, happening on Monday nights.
For Anchor Fest, we’re bringing The Best of Rat Tales Comedy Night to The Guild! Shifting from open mic vibes to a theatre show for one special Thursday night 60 minute experience.
Rat Tales started just after Britt Campbell came back to PEI, after roaming around the country telling jokes and gathering validation on as many stand up comedy stages as possible. Running almost 4 years now, Monday nights at Baba’s was a place for comedians to get stage time, but it has grown into a widespread community… not a cult.
The show will be recorded, with the goal of giving the comics footage to use to get booked at venues, festivals, and shows outside of PEI. A chance to introduce themselves to more stages and more comics after putting so much work into their sets every week at Rat Tales Comedy Night.
A big thank you to our sponsor, Red Island Cider and to Britt for donating the theatre rental.
Rat Tales has been and always will be Pay What You Can - Please support generously if you can but never stop yourself from showing up just because you don’t have money.

Britt Campbell: Comedy Album Trial Run
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 15 | 9:00PM | THE ARTS GUILD
SPONSORED BY RED ISLAND CIDER.
Britt Campbell is getting an hour of comedy ready for its close-up.
This special ANCHOR Fest performance is a recorded trial run of Britt’s hour, giving them a chance to work on the cadence, sharpen the jokes, smooth out the transitions, and see how the whole thing plays as a complete show.
This is all in preparation for a bigger comedy taping.
Having a taped practice run will give them a better chance at getting future venue bookings to practice before going all in with their comedy album/special.
So while this isn’t a night full of brand-new, never-before-heard material, it is a chance to see an hour being fine-tuned before it hits the road.
Britt Campbell has been described as intelligently inappropriate, dark, relatable, and surprisingly kind. Their unique and bold take on life, relationships, human nature, family dynamics, and queerness has made them stand out as one of Canada’s freshest new comedy voices. Now in their 11th year of comedy, it’s time to document their work.
Britt performs with independent clubs and theatres across the country and can be heard on SiriusXM, Just for Laughs Originals, and CBC’s Laugh Out Loud. They are also the host of Rat Tales Comedy Night at Baba’s Lounge every Monday night.
Come be a part of the process and celebrate this piece of work.
